A wliito Leghorn owned by Mr S. Harris, ol Qiieeuswood road, Levin, eclipsed all records, last; week, by laving un egg wliicih weighed V; ounces, measured /:{ inches ■around the oval, and (\\ inches in circumference. ' This is understood to be the pullet's coiintershot to the ova abnormalities produced this season by two other birds in the same yard. In giving publicii/; to these measurements wo haveno desire to be invidious to other lowlw of the, connly, and an invitation is now exteiuk'd to any of their owners who have (inything to heal these records to write'to us about it, or bring along their samples. As an item of further interest, it i.s recorded that Mr Harris' yard of thirteen hens, in the puriod from June, MHM), to June last, yielded .a dear profit of .{.'(J l()s (id, without taking any account of eggs consiiined. .at. the owner's table or of cockerels prepared for the pot.

The singing of "Auld Lang Syno" brought a very enjoyable function to a close.
