SUMMARY OF THE NEW TIME TABLE-
The alterations and amendment* to the railway time table have reduced many a citizen to the state of John Jones, coster monger, some time of London, made illustrious by a song writer who sang of bun thai "since Jack Jones came into a little bit of oof 'e dnnno where e are I The experiences of varying time tables during the past three or four months havoleft dubious impressions in the minds of citizens, and quite a number have missed their passages through confusing last months times with those of tlio present. No doubt there will be general appreciation felt for the subjoined summary of train times, which will be printed in "The Chronicle from day to day, until familiarity cures the present doubtfulness with which resicfents in various localities are afflicted.
Some of the above trains will atop at intermediate stations, such. as Tokoinaru, 01i.ni, Manakau, Te Horo, etc.; but there are some which do not. Residents should acquaint themselves with the trains which do stop at their particular stations.
As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations fit which 0110 or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers desire to bo set down or taken up. Local residents m«iy ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. Tho Auckland express readies Pnlmerston, from the North, at 12.<10 p.m. and arrives at Tliorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.m
