The Protestant Truth Society has entered a protest against the new Oath, on the ground that it does not provide against mental reservation, or I'apal dispensation, and is merely on parallel lines with the oaths taken by King Charles IT. and King .Tames 11., both of which proved ineffective. Members of the Society marched procession to Downing street, and cried "No Ropery." The police stopped them,
