Aluminium Milk Cans.
A number of creameries in Donmark have during the last live months been using aluminium cans supplied by a Copenhagen factory, which have proved most satisfactory not only to the factory managers, but to the milk producers as woH. Hitherto aluminium has ndt been considered a.s practical for shipping cans because it could: not be soldered, but lately a process has been made of tinned sbeel. These aluminium cans consist of nn 'inside seamless can of dr,aw,n aluminium pla/te of 1J to 2 inches in Hii'-kiiess, the real milk can, and, an outside can of galvanised iron solidlv fastened around tho inside can. This outside can protects the alumina us can completely agaimifc damage from rough handling. Tho two cans together are not heavier than tliemilk can's now generally used. The firdt cost of these fliummi'ium cans is higher than that of the tc'n cams, but it w claimed 'they will prove cheaper for use, as the alumtmum can will last longer, end when filially it is discarded stall lips the full value of the metal, 'as Wβ can be molbod <a.nd used again. This invention seems lvorthy of attention and we shall watdi its fmrthw development.
