The quantity of whcalt and flour afloat for the' United Kingdom is 2,()85,OO() quarters; for tlio Contimenfc of Europe, 900,000. The -following is the High Commissioner's report on the London markets: — The mutton market is dull, with scarcely any demand. The average, price to-day for Canterbury is 3Jd, North Island 3id. The lamb market is weak. Shipmcints arriving are very heavy, and buyeiis «aro not inclined to make forward purchases. The present prices show an inclination to 'force sales. Average prkw: Canterbury, 4-|il; othor than Canterbury, 4|d. The beef market is quiot. Shipments from Hhe River Plate are heavy, but there are signs of improvement in the market. New Zealand hindquarters 3Jd, forequarters 2J(I. The butter markeit is steady, with a good local demand for best quality. Choicest New Zealand to-day is bringing 110s (New Zealand is in small supply); Danish, 114s; ftibe» ian. 100s; Australian, 104s. The cheese market is firm, with a better demand, and the .prices have advanced owing to Advices from Canada. White New Zealand (old), 575; Canadian (new). 555; coloured New Zealand (old), 555; coloured Canadian (new), 535. The hemp market is not much changed. The tendency is slightly in favour of buyers. The market is very 'uncertain. The outpu't from Manila for the week was 21,000 hales. The wool market is firm, with ?i hardening tendency.
