Sentence on the Maori youth Augustus Rowi Wallace, who had plecwlled guilty of theft from the Convent at Otaki, was postponed till Friday next. Two youths—diaries King and Frank Dean- appeared for sentence on a charge of assault with iui'tent to rob. Their case arose out of the st-'eking up, with a little shooting. at a Chinese camp at Pa ra pa raumu. Both lads wore convicted, and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, on condition that they wore not seen out after G o'clock at nighit. Monthly reports as to the behaviour of the two accused are to be .furnished by their employers. His Honour said that the affair was probably the aftermath of what they had' seen in the attitude of some peoplo towards individuals carrying loaded revolvers.
