BAD LANGUAGE AT SHANNON
To the Editor Sir,—Spectators on the football ground at Shannon on Saturday .sneered extreme annoyance from a man whose language' during both suffered extreme annoyance from a as vile as could be imagined. This habit of bad language along the line, on grounds unprotected by the presence of an efficient policeman, seems to he increasing, and respectable, football folk are wondering when the Union is going to dn something, and endeavour to protect them from this annoyance, and the gate revenue from no small loss. From Saturday's experience it is evident that the presence of the chairman of the management committee and the tilirea.ts of the Union secretary are, alone, unavailing. The nuisance will end only when one or two of the worst offenders are absolutely debarred from the. playing grounds in the district. Union officials, .referees and all loyal supporters of Rugby should combine to render a repetition of the trouble impossible.— T am. etc., SPORT.
