Potatoes, both bablo and seed, continue- firm, with small offerings. Southern holders nro as yet confident of the position. Canterbury onions are still coining to hand in £ood condition, and while itliis continues North Island holders of keeping lines should hold back for tho inevitable riso after tho globes are. done. Vegetables are 'in exceptionally strong demand, and wo can take much larger supplies of all lines. Eggs are- firm, and demand good. Although we nro now receiving very large supplies of porkers, every lot is cleared readily at high prices. We have opened up a very favourable 'trade in tallow, and farmers' lots are strongly recommended. Fruit is unchanged from last week, with short supply. Business Ln grain, chaff, and hay is dull, and if the winter continues mild no increase in values can be looked for. Wo havo still a large stoo kof .seconds wheat, which must ho cleared this coining week aib low prices. Cheeso is firm, and in short supply. Thu local butter .trade ;is ,jur>b now diisorganis-cld through the "cutting" now going on, hut an early improvement is certain. Entries are inv.ilted for purebred poultry sale to bo held shortly.
