The Homo trade is taking the hulk of the wool offered. KO.MIO PR.IVATI'] ADVICES. The Xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company received the following cable from its London house, under date 12th hist.: "The opening catalogues were fairly representative. There was a good attendance at the opening of the sales to-day. competition by Home and Continental buyers being active. Prices ns compared with the close of preceding sales ruled about the same for fine crossbred and merino, and about 5 per cent lower for medium greasy crossbred slipe. America, i.s not operating." From the Bank of Xe.w Zealand's cablegram : 'Current prices for North Island farmers' lots, Palmerston N. style: Coarse crnssbred.s, 3G-40's quality, average condition, 9J>d to lOd; medium crossbreds, <(4~lfi's qunlitv. lid to 113 d; fine orossbreels, ffl's quality, 13Jd to M:]d." DALGETY AND CO.'S A DEVICES. Messrs Dalgety ■ and Company, Ltd., report having received tho following cable advices from their London House under date 13th inst.:— Wool sales.—Attendance of buyers generally i.s large, and cam petition animated. T.li?'clips offered so far ire mostly crossbreds. Since 0111 last wire merinos .and fine crossbred wools (greasy) change, if any, i.s in buyers' favour. Merino aiidi fine ercssbred wj;ols (scoured) par to 5 per cent lower. Crossbred wools, medium and coarse quality (greasy), par to 5 per cent lower. Slipe wools, coarse crossbred, 5 to 7| "c.r cent lower.
