LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, - In response to numerous requests, I iliuve definitely decided to contest the seat in tho Borough Conn-oil rendered vacant by the resignation of Mr Hudson. Having lived amongst you for oVer twelve years, and having always taken a. lively interest in all matters pertaining to the welfare of the district, as well as having served a term on tho Council, already justifies me in asking lor your support. As you are aware there has been over £35,000 of public money spent by the Council within the last two yoars, anid as a large proportion of this money has not, to my mind, been expended as judiciously' as it should have been, a strict investigation of the accounts would do no harm. A-ml as it is well-known to most of you, that I have the courage of my opinions, and not afraid tio speak where I think_ there is wilful neglect, or an injustice being done, I trust to bo favoured with your support. I trust to have the pleasure of publicly .addressing _ you on the more 'important subjeats within tho Course of a few Jays. Thanking you in anticipation of yonr most valuable assistance and personal support, which I assure you will be very much appreciated.—l am, yours faithfully, CHARLES WILLIAMS. 795w.
