The heavy rain on Monday .and Tuesday caused a big flood- in the Pek-.rn.s Yalley. Considerable .stock was lost. Tile steamer "Woobton," in endeavouring to in>ake Blackball, was caught by the current and collided with t.he schooner "Falcon,'' d imaging the latter to the extent of Col). '
Alfred creek bridge, 11ai Valley, has been washed awav. The coach service betueen Blenheim and Nel--vrjn is interrupted. The weather now r!ii./W.s signs of aihating.
