"ENQUIRER" AND A MULE.
To tho Editor
Siii , , —With reference to "'Enquirer" who wanted to kwow and by whoso ballet doux one would .say ho knew 'already, we get Ithe lmtes't or beilinH' r>f an expiring "ism." "En(|iiircr" seems also to bo in "ossoss.ion (>f M<irk Twain's nmde'.s cliaiuictoristios, which wa.s notable for two things, obstinacy and emphatic gestures. On the tow pa'Mi mio day it I"i >.ll into the canal and disappeared from view; the author fls.ser.ts it still kept plodding .along O n the canal ibed, breathing through its ears. That yarn of yours, "Enquirer," referring to 'Hun.torville, requires oorroboration, but ft savours to me of iiiveii'tion and malevolent imbecility. Hush townships, oh! or new. on the Main Trunk have robust, healthy natures, and anyone, working the bogey of an "ism" would gelt short shrift. "Enquirer" is requested to give his usual paimnymie, and (luring the. interval T will obtain from Hunlerville iiifwiiNition as to 'inyono writing on Spiritualism to itho local paper there for the past 10 years, giving any name, or initial, also if any of the tomfoolery which "Enquirer" allegps really occurred. — I am, etc..
