SUMMARY OF THE NEW TIME, TABLE. The alterations and amendment* to the railway time table have 7 reduced many a citizen to tlie state of John Jones, coster monger , some time of London, made illustrious by a song writer who sang of liim thai "since Jack Jones came into a littu bit of oof 'e dunno where e' are! The experiences of varying time tables during the past three or four months have left dubious impressions in the minds of citizens, < and quite a number have missed their passages through confusing last month 8 times with those of the present. No doubt there will be general appreciation felt for the subjoined summary of train times, which will be printed in "The Chronicle" from day to day, until familiarity cures the present doubtfulness with which residents in various localities are
As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passen- gfc. gers dosire to be set down or tnken' up. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Pnlmerston, from the North, at 12.40 p.m. and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m... The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmenston at 3.35 p.m.
