TN THE MATTER OF "THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908." NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE ABOVE ACT. NOTICE is hereby given thalfc in pursuance of the powers vested in -local ties by and of the provisions contained in The Public Works Act, 190(5, tho Makerua Drainage Board, a drainage board incorporated under Tho Land Drainage Act,' 1908, and having its registered office in the buildings situmte at the corner of Rangitikei and Cuba Street, Palmerston North, intends to take under The Public Works Act, 1908, that piece or parcel of land described in the schedule .hereunder written, and to carry out the works hereinafter mentioned and take notice that plans of the said land are deposited in tho office of the Makerua Drainage Board at Palmerston North, and at Mr Gunning's store at Tokoma ru, where the same are open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. The works proposed to be executed by the said Board are the construction of a drain or channel of a width at the bottom of 25 fecit, a depth of 5 feet, and a width at the top of 35 feet, for the purpose of connecting the boundary drain between Mana-wa.tu-Kukutuaki Nos. 4 and 5 and the Tokoinaru stream.

And take notice that all persons affected by the construction o>f the said work or the taking of the said land are required to set forth in writing any well grounded objections to the execution of such works or the biking of such lands and to send such, writing within 40 days from the 19th day of May, 1910, to the Makerua Drainage Board. Thence along the above-mentioned boundary for a distance of 478.5 links to tho Toko mar u Cut. Thence along the contre of the Tokotnaru Cut for a distance of 1101.1 links.
