Dr. Fitchett moved nil amendment "that in view of the community of interests .and responsibilities of a groat missioii'iiry enterprise in the South Seas and Tndia. which New Zealand and Australia accented in a common conference, tip's meeting; declines the request- believing that separation will destroy the uniit-y of Australasian Methodism." Dr. Kitehett, criticising the Methodism of the New Zealand delegntcß, said they had to speak ami vote under orders. No good reason had been advanced for separation .and his own impression was fthat it was a little fictitious agitation that had linen cot up. The debate was adjourned.
