The Manawjitu Hunt held a run at Otaki on Wed.nesd.ay, L'otli in.st., in good hunting weaMier. Tho run was witnessed i>y a large number oi spectators ol both .sexes, who were keuuly interested in the proceedings. Messrs D. Hoiuii'tt, huntsman and A. S'trawbridge, deputy-ni.a.ster, were in charge ol the field, and they carried out- their duties jidmirnbly. Hounds were east on at Mr C. A. \V. Monekton's, Pahiko, and (lie course led across to the road at the back, along to Mr A. Hall's property, through to the County road, back again to the by-ro.ad, and finished at the homestead. ±j.ero the horses wore allowed a short spell, during which afternoon tea was kindly served by Mrs Monckton. The second portion ef the run was wholly over Mr Monekton's property; ifc took a zig-zag, roundabout course, over some twenty fences of various descriptions, and ended with .a double brush near the homestead. The majority of tho hei'se: jumped Well, but some were a bit green, and showed signs of ha i d going, while others led. their ri'b'rs to a close jicquaiiitance with Mother Earth.
