LIBERAL OR UNIONIST?
Next Wednesday week the Y.M.C.A. Literary Society will hold its second debate of tho 1910 season. There will be 'three leading speak ers on each side: three Liberals and three Unionists. Under ordinary conditions there would have been three Conservative champions also, but since the Unionist lion entered the fold of the Conservative laml) there have been no outward indica tio'ius of Conservatives to be seen in Groat Britain—not even during the recent general elections. Such being tlie position, the term Unionist has ilaken on a much wider and n more significant meaning, and the supporters of tho Unionist, side will b'o drawn from wider circles than would have been the case in previous years. The subject of the debate is entitled, "Which .is tlie bettor policy for itlie Empire? Liberal or Unionist? ' Tho possibilities of such a debate aro very great, and a large, muster of orators and listeners may be anticipated with confidence for the first of Juno.
