As regards "Civis' " Xo. 2 letter, where lie says that it i* the brigade's duty to approach tTio council for what it wants, ho shows thalfc lie ("Civis") does not read the reports of tho Borough Council, which appear in " Tlie Chronicle." or lie would see that tlio 'brigade lias asked for a new 'bell on more than one occasion. T recommend to "Civis" that lie bead a. deputation to the council and try to procure a larger bell, to wako up those firemen wbom "Civis" considers unreliable.—Yours, etc.. R.
