IN THE MATTER OF "THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908." NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE ABOVE ACT. NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of tho powers vested in. local authorities by and of tbo provisions contained in Tho Public Works Act, 1900, tire Makerua, Drainage Board, a drainage board incorporated tinder tho Tbo Land Drainage Act, 1908, and having its registered office in tbo buildings jsi'tunto at the corner of Rangitikei Biwl Cuba street, Palmerston North, intends to take under Tho Public Works Act, 1908, that pieco or parcel of land described in tho schedulo hereunder written, and to carry out tho works hereinafter mentioned and tako notico that plans of tho said laud are deposited in the office of the Makerua Drainage Board at Palmerston North, and at Mr Gunning's store at Tokomaru, where the same aro open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. Tbo works proposed to be executed by tho said Board aro the construction oi a drain or channel of a width at tin* bottom of 25 feet, a depth o'i •"> feet, and a. width at tbo top of 35 feet for tbo purpose of connecting the boundary drain between Mn.ua-watu-Kukutuaki Nos. 4 and 5 and tho Toko ma ru stream. And take notice tha.t all persons affected by the construction of the said work or tho taking of tho said land are required to set forth in writing any well grounded objections to the execution of such works or the taking of such lands and to send such writing within *10 days from tbe 19th day of May, 1910. to the Makerua Drainage Board.
