WAIKANAJfi STOCK SALES

Messrs Dalgoty and Co. report on their Wa-ikunao sale, held, yesterday, as follows:—A small entry only of shoop oamo forward, hut a good yarding of cattle sold readily; cows, beef, and young stock being keenly competed for. A complete clearance resulted. Wo quote:— Medium woolly lambs, 8s 9d; nice lino bullocks, £5 10s; light fat cows £4 12s, £4 18a 6d to £5; forward cows, £4 Is to £4 9s; small mixed woaners, £1 ss; two-yoa-r .steers, £3 12s; cows and calves, £4 7s; aged omvs, in calf, £3 2s; cows, in milk. £3 9s to £3 11s to £3 las.

Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— At our sale at Waikanao to-day we had a fair yarding of sheep and a medium entry of cattle. All cattle, offered sold freoly, at prices satisfactory to vendors. Bidding for sheep was dragging, but we quitted privately, afterwards, tho hulk of them passed in lots. We quote: — 2-tooth wethers, 12s 7d; empty ewes, 7s; ewo lambs, 8s; lat heifers, £5; fat cows, £5; springing heifer, £4 10s; cow in calf, £4.

Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: —At Waikanae on Wednesday wo had full yardings of both sheep and cattle. Sheep dragged rather at auction, but with tho exception of one pen wo sold the whole yarding. Cattle sold well ait prices on a par with recent quotations:—Good lambs, 7s 7d, 8s 5d to 8s fid ; 2-tooth wethers (small), 10s Gd; mixed aged ewes in lamb, 10s 6d; store ewes, 7s Gd; cull ewes, 3s 8d; lmifers in calf, £3 7s_ 6d; springing heifers, £1 os to £o 15s; springing cows, £G to £7 2s (kl; store cows, 30s to £2 15s; weaners, 25s to 335; 18-month heifers, £2 8s ; 18-monith steers, £2 8s to £2 14s.
