The market lor prime lines of potatoes is much firmer, and tho market is barely supplied. No change to report in onions. Vegetables of all kinds are in short supply, with keen demand. We are pleased to report a coii.sider.able improvement in values of cooking apples, to-day's sales realising up to 4s 3d for good lines. Dessert apples are also firmer, as also pears. Grapes continue in excellent demand at fair prices. Eggs are very scarce, mini we now recommend clients to send in preserved lines in any quantity. We :liave a demand for 100 prime porkers per week at the best prices obtainable in this city. Oats aro advancing, and we arc prepared to quote customers for their forward supplies. Wheat is linn. Pollard and bran show an advancing tendency. -Maize at present prices is well worth stocking up for winter supplies. We arc at the present time doing a very largo trade in horse and cow covers, which we supply at from 20s to 235, made of the best material and by the best workmanship. The 19 per cent, basic slag which wo have to offer our clients is of the highest grade, and we should be glad to make special quotations for quantities, as we lmve concluded a purchase on very advantageous tonus.
