HOROWHENUA HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Management Committee ol : the Hurowlienun Hoc,<ey Association was held on iMonday evening, at the offices of .Messrs omart Jiiiil Thorne, Levin. 'Mr \V. rl. Wilson was elected chairnnan for jlio year, and it was left in. the iiaiwls of Messrs Thorne and C. Wil;ou to arrange matches for the season. At the present time there ne five men's teams affiliated to the .i&sociation, viz.: Manakau, Obaki, Uiiiuhui, Levin and tho Rovers. Tlie number of ladies' teams is not yet ■»flicially known, but it is .und«r■.tood there are, so far, four. Tlu ueeting passed a vote of tliuuiks to Mo referees for last year's services, mid tlie hope was expressed that they .vould coiitiiHie those services during tho present season. Tho socroary was 'requested to write to the •liibs, asking them to nominate six nembers to officiate >as referees. He vns also instructed to purchase a 'lumbal' of books containing tho new : - ules.
