CHARGE OF MURDER.
AGAINST POWELKA
TO I3E HEARD AT PALMERSTON
It is understood by the "Manawatu Times" that the charge of murder, in connection with tho dentil of Sergeant Maguire, will be heard in the Palmerston S.M. Courton May t>, when Jos. Powelka will be charged with the offence. The following additional charges are to be preferred against Jos. Powelka: — Hreakiug and entering Mr Perry's store at Lougbiirn; robbery under arms in respect to the affair at Mr Kendall's, Foxtou line; arson in respect to the High School fire; arson in respect to Millar and Giorgi's temporary promises; theft from Mrs Farland's, Terrace End; breaking into the railway station at Ashurst. These charges will be heard in the S.M. Court, Palmerston North, on Monday next, May 2.
