A meeting of the I forowhenua Cnunt.v Council w«s held nt the offices. Lev in, tliis morning. Cr. Watson presiding, and the following members were present: Crs. Proust;, Mcfienvev, Stephenson. The- matter was left in the hairdo of the councillor for the riding. NOXIOUS 'WEEDS. The clerk to the Kaira'nga County Council wrote to the effect that his council viewed with alarm the spread ol noxious weeds throughout the West Coast of the Xortli Island, and considered that in order to cope with tjie evil united action should be •token by tho adjacent council witli the view of bringing pressure t:i hear upon the responsible authorities to have tho provisions of "The Noxious "Weeds Act" strictly enforced .
Or. Pronse commented upon the need for action in the matter, and it was decided to write to the Noxious Weeds Department on tlio subject generally.
