PREPARATIONS AT LEVIN

Tho official opening of the Weraroii Post. Oliiee, by Sir Josc-ph Ward, will take place, on Thursday afternoon. During the Premier's stay in Levin lie will Iμ approached by local deputations in regard to the sand drift troubles, and also the question of acquiring lands for closer settlement in the vicinity of tin's town. The Premier will be driven into the .surrounding country during his stay in Levin, and some entertainment will bo provided for him. If any citizen of the borough has any special request to bring before the Premier the Mayor (Mr B. I{. Gardener) will bo pleased to receive iit, and place it .before Sir Joseph Ward, if it proves to be in order. Mr Field, .M.P. for Otaki Electorate, will accompany the Premier, and he no doubt will be also pleased to bring before Sir Joseph any matters of local importance that may be brought to bis notice. ACTFOX OK THE BOROUGH ' COUNCIL. At last evening's meeting of the Levin Borough Council, the Mayor drew attention to the forthcoming \ isit of the Prime Minister, and invited councillors to throw out suggestions on the matter. Several things would have- to be brought before, the Premier's attention, .and one of the principal matters in connection with his visit would lie the opening of the Weraroa Pest Office. Then local deputations would possibly wait on him. There was the question o!' the sand drifts on the beach, and the matter of a. canning factory for the district.
