The "Cobar" Collision.
FINDING OF THE COURT
[per press association.;] WELLINGTON, This Day. The Court Rave its decision in connection with the recent collision between the "Duehe.ss" and tlie "Cobar." The- Court remarked that .if the "Cobar" had hail severa hundred passengers aboard she would have sunk and an appalling Joes c>l life would have occurred. I hero was too much laxity shown in the control of the harbour ferry boats. The master was not sufficiently on the bridge, but was engaged on other duties, such as ticket- collectinc. Allegations as to drunkwiiiess against Captain Jones, of the "Duchess." wero nnprovod. Until captains were equally at fault, and the casualty was due to the careless navigation of both. The certificates of Captains -Tones and Williams would be suspended for twelve months.
