CORRESPONDENCE.
[Our correspondents' opinions are their own; tho responsibility of editorial ones makes .snfficitMit' ball.ist- for the editor's .shoulders.] To the Editor.
S.:y- T by vonr Saturday's issue a letter from Mr S. Camphall to tlia County Council, in which I'ie writer says:— "They will not l :t me go Through unless I knock tlie gate ori mils few:]." This in not correct,/ as before padlocking my gate I/wrote telling liim t-liat
he would in future have to ask for I the key, when going through my | property. The gate is close to my house, and there is always someone about, but it seems lie has not the courtesy to come in and ask for .the key. As L heard from my solicitors lie has no legal right-of-way; I, not wishing to be unneighbourly, would give him permission to go through '!■ y property. He has had my gate, taken off and .smashed, and lie ,liastold people the County Council is going to pay his expenses for doing this. Councillor AlcLeavey seems to lorget that all the time Mr Campbell has been paying rates he has been using the public roads, as well as trespassing through private property. I therefore fail to see why the County Council should waste public money for his benefit especially as he lias only a five years lease to run. Hoping lam not taking up too much of your space. -I am, etc., At. AVEBB. Koputaroa, April 11. j I
