For Railway Passengers Guidance.

SUMMARY OF THE NEW TIME TABLE. Tlio alterations and amendments In the railway time table have reduced many a citizen to the state of John Jones, eostermonger, some time of Loudon, made illustrious by a song writer who sang of him that "since Jack Jones camo into a little bit of oof 'o dun no where o' are!" Tho experiences of varying timo tables during the past three or four months have left dubious impressions in the minds of citizens, and quito a number have missed their passages through confusing last month's times with those of tbo present. No doubt there will lie general appreciation felt for tho subjoined summary of train times, which will lie printed in "The Chronicle" from day to day, until familiarity euros the present doubtfulness with which residents in various localities are afflicted.

Some of the above trains will stop at intermediate stations, such as Tokomaru, Ohau, Manalcau, Te> Horo, etc.; but there aro some which do not. Residents should acquaint themselves with the trains which do stop at their particular stations.

As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whomever passengers desire to be set down or taken up. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which eater for their towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the 'train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Palnier.sto.li, from the North, at 12.40 p.m. and arrives at Thorndon at 1.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.10 p.m. and readies Palnierston at p.m.
