The award has caused great disappointnient amongst the miners, who claimed payment, of 2s (id a ton and an eight hours day from bank to hank. The opinion is expressed amongst miners that borehole men should not work under the award. They hold the award will menu trouble with other pits. Members of the Millers' Federation said they thought they might get something which would induce thorn to view the Wages Board in a favourable light, "but," said one of the members interviewed, "this settles it."
