The report of the Chief Veterinary Officer states I liafc the unsoundness of the hereditary character still exists to a considerable extent, and that_ there is ,a considerable proportion of sires unfit for their purpose on account of mongrel characteristics. During the past season New Zenland Government certificates were accepted in connection wi,th 33 stallions imported from the dominion.
