Tho brigades good work managed to cut off and .save a. portion of the stacks, hut a large part, including valuable niacinery,'stables and carts was destroyed. The watchman used a revolver to frighten the horses, and succeeded with great difficulty in driving fil'teem safely out of i lie stable. Tile bulk ol tlx* timber was only stacked last week.
