The annual meeting of the Levin Branch of the Fanners , I'liion was held on Saturday .afternoon, in the "llormvlit'iinia. Chronicle." buildings. Mr J. McLravy presided. Tinmembers present were Messrs J. McLeavey (chairman), Kebbell, Stewart. Richards, Devonshire, Allen, Kindlon, Smith, Needier] I'rouse, Hall. Adkin. Saxon. Burns Wilson, Webh, I'erry, a-nd V. K. (linn. sec.)'. A number of interesting discussions that tcok place, are reported in to-day's "Chronicle' , under a ■vparate heading. In some introductory remarks Mr McLeavey mentioned that there wa.s a credit balance of CI") IDs ()d to the br.anch's credit, but a. sum nf_ CIO Is 0;l had to be paid out of this by way of annual levy to the head office. Mr McLeavey was suits' to sre so small an attendance ol members that afternoon- some liftc-iMi out of about 1M- it only W"iit to show how poor an interest the bulk of the farmers took in affairs that most intimatelv concerned them. HXAXCIAL MATTKRS. In regard to finance, the treasurer of the branch (Mr IF. .). Richards) spoke of the need for better linancial support from meinb/rs. The chairman. \ice-chairii!au. treasurer, and .secretary were then appionted a committee to through the books and strike off those members who have left the district or have lost the rii'ht of membership throiifj;li anv ('ther reason. He had not done all that they have desired him to do, but he could assure them of this, that he had done his very best. lie expressed his satisfaction that the annual conference of delegates had iinanin nusly carried the resolution reifardin'j: the absentee vote. On the motion of Mr Devonshire, seconded by Mr Allen, Mr MoLeavoy was unanimously re-e----lected chairman, after lie had advised members to let the office nrmd. After discussion as to the appoint men t of delegates to attend the provincial conference in May, it ■was resolved to appoint four members, from whom the two delegates would bo finally .selected. The quartette is Messrs Richards, Wilson, Devonshire and McLeavey.
