A MIXFJ) J!l<;iil)\S Riai'RXS
A subscriber has given the Waipiikiirau Press tho following figures, which bear iiirther testimony to the value of tho dairying industry. The returns are from a mixed dairy herd, and are taken from thbc sheets of a supplier to the Maharabara West butter factory, iiiear Woodville. The area of the hunt on which the cows were kept is only b"SO acres laud in no way superior to that in this district. As a cheese factory is about to bo established ill Waipukiirau, the figures should prove of interest to those engaged in dairying pursuits in the district. It should bo noted that for suppliers of milk for cheeseniakiug, about 2.Jd per lb. more is paid to suppliers. 1909.-October—Four weeks : ,'W cows, •>")(].7'Jlbs butter fat at 10d Ib, L'2.i Us 11(1.
