HOROWHENUA BOATING CLUB.
COMMITTEE MEETING. A well-attended meeting of the Committee of the Boating Club was lie-Id in the Levin Hotel last evening. A large cjuantity of correspondence iiiul minor business was brought before the meeting and dealt with. The dflte for tlio men's double sculling race was fixed for the 27i.1i April. ICntries for this event will close on April 20th, the entrance tec being fixed at 2s (id, payable with entry. This race is for medals presented by Mr Shaw, captain of the club. The boats will be drawn for a week before the race, so that crews will be able to finish their training in the hoiit they will race in. Messrs Jeiiinan and Shaw were appointed handicappers. T1 ie ladies' double scullinig race was fixed for the same day, the same officials being appointed to control the race. A vote of thanks was passed to the donors of trophies for these races. Mr Ereehlmg. who lias been acting as secretary for some considerable period, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services, and was commended for the able way in which lie- carried out the duties. A vote of thanks to the chairman for presiding clcse dthe meeting.
