NEW SENSATIONAL HOLD. The recent wrestling tournament ■at the Alhambra in London produced "a new sensational hold, called the scissors hold. This was introduced by Olsen, of Newfoundland. Olsen met Tonge, of Bolton, and vanquished him by this wonderful hold. When, after 18 minutes ;or so of wrestling, Olsen fixed his scissors hold, Tonge wriggled, pushed, and squirmed with excellently-timed efforts, but gradually sank under what mu*st bo tho extraordinary pressure from Olsen's legs round his middle. Tonge gave in by tapping his opponent, and it was obvious that the pain of this doubly-locked scissors hold was too much for hihr. Tonge was on hands and knees when Olsen's legs fastened around him, but he was almost powerless to move. That the scissors hold should be barred is becoming a general condition. According to a London correspondent it is certain that it brings about the defeat of men, not by throwing them, but by causing them to yield through pain, mid for that reason is in the same category as the double nelson and the stranlgo (the stopping of breathing), tho twisting of fingers or thumbs, the foot twist, etc.
