LEVIN STOCK SALES. Abraham .and Williams, Ltd., report as follows:—At Levin yesterday we had lull yarding of both sheep and cattle. Competition' throughout the sale was brisk, and every lot was sold at satisfactory prices, not n single beast- going out unsold. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd.. report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Levin on Friday, when we had a fair yarding of sheep. The .attendance of buyers was good, but bidding was rather dragg'inb. Practically everything was cleared however. We quote: Forward wethers, 12s 3d; fat wethers, 13s sd: fat lambs, 9s 9d; fmt> ewes, 10s lid.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Lovin sale, held yesterday: We had. a full yarding of sheep, consisting chiefly of wethers anul ewes, all of which mot with a ready sale at auction. A keen demand still exists for good, sound breeding ewes. Any lines offering were well competed for. Withers fit for turnips are also in good demand- The few pens passed at auction were sold immediately -a,u, terwartls, with the result that we had almost a total clearance at the following rates:— Sheep.—Fat and forward wethers, 14s; forward wethers, 13s 7cl.;' store ..wethers, 13s; 2-tooth wethers, 12s 4d; mixed aged breeding ewes, lis Del to 12s; full-month Roinney ewes, 14s; aped breeding ewcn, 9s Gd to 10s 3d; cull ewes, Gs Id; small lambs, ss; others, to .s 9d; fat ewes, 12s to 12s 4d; ao-ed rams.
