LONDON MARKETS
Palgety and Co. report having received, the following cable messages from their London House, under I date of the 23rd instant:— , Frozen Meat.—Mutton is in good demand, prices ruling from Jα <to ]d higher, whilst lamb is in very ""grind demand, any change in prices being in favour of sellers. For heel' holders are asking id more for hinds ami Ad for fores, but the advance which is being asked is chocking business. Wool.—Sales closer! firm. As compared with hist sales closing rates greasy super merino wools and linavy, earthy and wasty greasy merinos are unchanged, whilst other descriptions of greasy merinos show an advance of from 5 per cent to 7' per cent. Scoured merino wools are 5 per cent higher. Crossbred wools of medium and coarse quality suitable for America are from 5 per cent to 10 per cent lower, but other crossbred wools of medium and coarse quality are 5 per cent lower, .ho total net quantity available amounted to V.h o bales, of which (5000 bales were sold to America, 78,000 for Home consumption '1(5,000 to the Continent, leaving 9000 bales to be carried forward. Realisations of the following wools on account of our clients arc reported:— 11 bales wool on account of Thos. Harris, Palmerston North. iO.ld; 5 bales wool on account of 8. Devane, Palmerston North, 9*1(1; 22 bales wool on account of A. 1?. liryee, Palmerston Xortb, 9.3d ; 11 bales wool on account of Mrs F. IT. Schorniaiv, Masterton, 9.2 d; 21 bales wool on account of A. R. Bryce, Palmerston North, Bid: G bales wool on account of f. O'Hagan, Palmerston North, Bid.
