Sausages for the Kaiser.

Threo of the Halleres, the men who work the saltmines at Halle, were received by the German Emperor at Berlin on Sunday. They were atired in their own costume of red coats and knee breeches, according to the custom which has obtained since the reign of Frederick tho Groat.

They were timed to arrive while the Imperial family were lunching, and had the honour, as usual, of serving their annual gifts of sausage and a pyramid of salted eggs, the Kaiser, setting an example by tasting the delicacies. The Halleres brought 1301b of sausage (each one weighing a pound) and 200 pickled, eggs, which is a speciality in Halle. The men remain in Berlin for ten days >at the Kaiser's expense, having the entree to the theatres, and returning with His Majesty's gift of ft serviceable horse and other .things,.
