Excursion to Weraroa State Farm.
A FEFLDIXG PROPOSITION. Feilding's Fruitgrowers' Association has been discussing various matters relating to fruit growing, and incidentally it has betMi resolved to pay a vi.s- of inspection to the State Farm at AVerama. The visit will be made on the (itli proximo. It was pointed out at the meeting that these experimental farms are no good unless the people—their owners—visit fliul inspect, them. Incidental to the decision above recorded, a letter was read from Mr T. AV. Kirk, chief of the I'oinoloqical Division of the Agricultural Department. In a letter. Mr Kirkwrote that In , ' was exceedingly sorry that greater facilities for visiting the Experimental Farms were not "•iveu to fruit-growers. The Hon. Mackenzie took a very- live interest in the fruit industrv. and Mr Kirk was sure that when the period of financial stress was over, he would be found ready and willing to give all the assistance in his power.
