Tlie journe-y was over a pack truck from Rutherford's homestead, at Te Peaks, to Lake's Station, and hack, an hour being nllowed before the return. Knsor's horse covered tlie fifty miles in (i hours 37 mi mites, winning by 08 minutes. This is believed to be a record. Both horses are noted journey horses, and the match excited considerable- interest in the district.
