MOTHER AND CHILD dURNED. [BY ELECTRIC TELEORAPH--COPTIMOHT.J [.PER PRESS ASSOCIATION ] ADELAIDE, Jliwcli 24. A shocking fatal accident occurred, to-day. A Mrs Hinton wns warming some food for her baby in her bedroom, using a spirit lamp for the purpose, when the lamp exploded find sot fire to the bed, on which the infant and another child were lying. The mother was terribly burned while trying to rescue thorn, and sho and the infant succumbed; to the frightful injuries received.

A man heard Airs Hinton , s agonised cries for help, and rushed into the house to the rescue. He and the .second child were badly burned.
