ENQUIRY TNTO CHARGES AGAINST HIM. Intimation has been made in Wellington that the Government has appointed a Commission of Inquiry to investigate certain charges that have been made against Mr Peter Hayes, Commissioner of Taxes ami Superintendent of the- Advances to Settlers Office. The Commission comprises Dr. Fitchett (Public Trustee), Mr Salmond (Solicitor-General), and Mr AVaidegrcive {Fnder-Secrctar.v of Justice). .
