Sweet Pea Exhibition.

FIXED FOR PALMERSTON. Word Tias been received that the newly formed National Sweet Pea Society of Xew Zealand is to hold its inaugural show in Palmerston on December 14th, 1010. The objects of the society are to foster the culture of the sweet pea and to dissemiate knowledge about the flower. The Society was formed some months hack at a meeting held in Stratford, and at a committee meeting held there recently the decision to hold the first show in Palmerston was made. Mr Henry Brett, the well-known Aucklander, has been elected president, Mr Ernest Osmond, of Stratford, secretary, while among the committeemen are Messrs A. C. llrndiield, of Palmerston, and P. W. Goldsmith, of Levin.

The show will lie a brillant one from every standpoint, for the best growers in that province will be Messrs Holder, Porinia; H. A. Fox, Wellington; Irwin, Christchurch; Goodson, Hawera; Goldsmith, Levin, and Rev. Scott, Kaponga. Word has been received from Auckland that the biggest gorwers in that province will be exhibiting, and Messrs Arthur Yates and Co. have also promised to make a display.

It is probable tihat the schedule will include five cli.'impionships for the best 18, 12, f), (5. and 3 varieties for which trophies will be awarded.
