Oxford Victorious.

THE INTER-UNIVERSITY BOAT RACE. CAMBRIDGE PLUCKY. BUT WELL BEATEN. TIME, 20MIN. LI,SEC. [BY KT.ECTRIC TEIiKGRAPH—COPTRIOHT.] f I*Bll TRUSS ASSOCIATION.] (Received This Day, 9.40 ia.ni.) LONDON, March 23. The weather was perfect, and the water smooth, for the annual boatrace between the eights of Oxford and Cambridge, which was rowedi over the customary course, from Putney to Mortlake. Cambridge won the toss, and chose the Middlesex side. The boats were level to Craven Steps, but from Crabtree to Harrod's the Oxford crew, pulling a long, steady stroke, gradually overhauled their rivals, and shot Hammersmith bridge threequarters of a length ahead. After this they continued, to increase their lead, despite Cambridge's plucky spurts. The official result was a win for Oxford, by three and a half lengths; time, 20min. Msec.
