The Sphinx Clul) dinner at the Hotel Cecil recently was remarkable for a brilliantly humorous speech by Mr Sydney Holland, chairman of the London Hospital, on "Advertising for Charity." Mr R. Balch, who presided, introduced Mr Holland as "the best beggar in London."
