RUNAWAY HORSE.
EXCITING S'OKNK. A horse 'attached to a cart (ie> longing to Mr F. 0. Smith, ot Levin, bolted yesterday from tlio sale grounds, wd tore up Queen street at a gaih ('• 'i hiTt , wrs no driver in the cart at the time, ;;iid I lie animal had lull scope to display its racing powers. A mob ol' sheep did nob bar the way of the runaway horse, which galloped right over thorn, killing ono instantaneously, while several others wen. , scattered in all directions. Evidently nfllictoil bv .the heat of the da.y, the horso next turned its attention to the bar -of the Levin Hotel, to tin- consternation of the customers. Then wheeling round, it swerved pasfctho telegraph post mid charged into the 'llorowlienua Club. The serenity of this popular resort Quietened the disturbed animal, and it was lfd away without further trouble.
