I fwCYLX-WAXDERERS CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The .anmini meeting of the LevinWnndorers CI ill) was hold Inst evening at the Levin Hotel, Mr J. C. Hums presiding. About twenty I members were present. The minutes of the Inst annual meting were tend and confirmed, and on the motion of Mr Arms, seconded by Mr Proctor, were oonfirnietl. SECRETARY'S REPORT. The report was then read by the secretary (Mr Tliowie), and was a.s follows:— "1 hare much pleasure in presenting the .annual report of the i Levin-Wanderers Football Club. The past season was one that may i be termed a successful one from < both a football and financial view. • Although not winning either the ' senior or junior championships, ' both teams are to be congratulated on the positions held in their re- • spectire classes. Our senior team plaved twelve matches, of which eight irw(! won, three lost, and one drawn. Points scored 1-1-7, against , '". This team is to be heartily congratulated on their display of football during the season—they were "runners-up" mi the championship, scoring 87 points more than the winners during the season. Proctor and Devonshire were elected members of the club. ELECTION' OK OFFICERS. Mr Proctor niowl. and it was carried. that Mr Gardener (the Mayor) be elected patron of the club. Mr J. G. Ilankins was reelected president, and Messrs W. H. Wilson, J. Berryman, P. Kartholomcw, Wiiiiata, Proctor, McTntyre anrl Saxon wer" appointed vice-presidents. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting. lIORC.WHKNTA RKFEREES' ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. PROSPECTS VOW THE COMING SKASOX. Mr J. Hiirns presided last evening at the Levin Hotel over the aiiiiaul meeting of the Ilorowheniia liefercL's' Association. Those pre-:-.'iit were: Messrs Proctor, Burgo, •I. Smith, Eggelton, Merson (lion, secretary). ANNUAL REPORT. I he chairaniiii moved the adoption of the annual report, which was a.s follows: ■ ■■ "I have much pleasure in submitting the annual report for the past year. The Association lias Had a most satisfactory season, and it is pleasing to not-. , the large increase- made in membership there being an increase of 2;} on the, previous year. The thanks of the Association are due to Mr F. Rhodes and to the "Horowhenua Chronicle" for the use of rooms in which to hold meetings. As no lelegate ould be obtained the Asv),;iiition \\\is uiot represented at tiie Uinnal Conference of the N.Z.R.A, 'mid at Xew Plymouth. The Conference this year is to be held at \Vellington at Easter; and an endeavour should be made for this Association to be reprt-sonted. During the season a number of new referees officiated in matches in the Union, and acquitted themselves'in •i most satisfactory manner." On the- motion of Mr Burge, seconded by Mr Procter, the report was adopted, as was .itso the balance sheet. The chr.irr.nn remarked that the balance sheet revealed a very satisfactory state of affairs. If a young association like this could keep its head above water it vvns .1 very creditable, thing. X.Z.R.A. AXXUAL CONFERENCE. The secretary of the X.Z.R.A. wrote intimating that the annual Conference wouid take place at Wellington at Easter, anct asking the local association to appoint a. vice-president to that body, and a :lelfgate to the same. Mr Proctor moved that Mr McFiityro be appointed the vice-presi-dent. This was seconded by Mr Hiirge ai:id agreed to. The matter of a delegate was left in the hands of the* secretary. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The lection of officers was then proceeded with. --r Burge moved and Mr Proctor seconded, that Mr Gardener (tho Mayor) be re-appoiintetl patron.-— Carried. On the proposition of tho chairman Mr Melntvre was re-elected preset,

Messrs Proctor, W. Bevan, <T. GMa.nkius, T. Parata, J. C. Bums, W. FJrmirrhtr.u and Eggelton were elected vice-presidents. Mr Merson intimated that lie would prefer not to continue in the office of lion, secretary and treasurer. Tlio chairman voiced tlio views of the meeting when he said that he hoped Mr Merson would reconsider the matter. He had remdered tluMii great, services, and it would he a pity ii' he resigned. Mr Merson, however, while promising that he would not abate his interest one jot or tittle in the association, said lie must reluctantly decline to continue in office. ;Mr Rnrge was then unanimously elected in his stead. Messrs 13 rn ugh lon, McTntyre and the secretary wore chosen as an Appointment Committee, and Mr G. P. Brown was elected a member of the Association. TRIBUTE TO THE RETIRING SECRETARY. The chairman, in moving a resolution recording the Association's high appreciation of the services rendered it hy Mr Merson, and regret at his resignation, said that they all knew he was instrumental in forming the Association. Tie had a very hard task before him, because the Association was not viewed with favour hy the TTorowhenua Rugby Union. Mr Merson was successful in overcoming their antipathy, and ho made success where others had met with failure. (Hear, hear.) The Association was a complete success last season, and he hoped tliev would have still greater success this year. Ho was very sorry Mr Merson had found it necessary to drop out just as his work was bearing excellent fruit, (hear, hear)—but he was sure Mr 11 urge would he a worthy successor. (Applause.) Their thanks were due to Mr Merson and a few other friends who had worked unromittinglv on behalf of the Association. (Applause.) Mr Proctor seconded the motion, which was unariiomusly agreed to. Mr Merson, in a happy little reulv. thanked the chairman for his kiudlv references to him. and promised to do all he con Id to forward the interests of the Association, lie was sure they could not get a better secretary and treasurer than Mr Purge. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the proceedings.
