ENTERTAINMENTS.

MOVING PICTURES. That moving pictures sometimes arc immovable was prove*] on. Friday evening, when Bouttell's moving pictures came to ;i standstill nine miles from Foxton. This was occasioned. by a complete breakdown of the company's motor car, which kept the wayfarers on the. road until 11 p.m., at which droughty hour they came wearily into Foxton. Under these circu instances, the proprietary was unable to send word to Levin, at which town an exhibition of the pictures that evening had been arranged for. Next Fridi.y, it is confidently promised, t-lioio will be no delays, and the usual weekly display ab Levin is underlined as a certainty.

ST. PATRICK'S NIGHT DANCE. St. Patrick's Day is to be fitly celebrated :n Levin next Thursday, by a sports meeting, and appropriately wound up in the evening by a dance. Possibly occasion will be made to have at least one jig danced for the honour of the Old Land. Particulars of the oance are advertised to-day, and; it is of interest to note that whole the prico of admission for men is a florin, the ladies may gain entry on production of " a plate.'.' The advertisement seems somewhat ambiguous, hut enquiries made in propr quarters have brought forth information that the pl ito is expected to be covered wit;i cakes or othor comestibles. *
