LOYAL ORANGE INSTITUTION.

A meeting of the brethren of the L.0.L., for the purpose of opening the Levin ("Progress") lodge (00), was held in tho Century Hall o>n Saturday evening. There was a large gathering of delegates arriving from Wellington, Petone, Hutt, and Palmerston North. On arriving at the station they were met by Bros. G. and R. Carruthers and H. Heath. At the lodge meeting R.W.G.M. Aston presided, and business of an important character was transacted. Bro. G. Carruthers was installed Worshipful Master, Bro. R. Carruthers secretary, and H. Heath treasurer. Four.candidates wero initiated, and it was reported that at the. next meeting, to be held in a fortnight's time, there would bo half-a-dozen initiations. Subsequently _ the brethren sat down to a capital repast. The R.W.G.M. again presided, and various toasts were honoured.
