DISTRICT NEWS.
SHANNON. (Our Own Correspondent.} A young man named Charles Robertson, in tho employ of Mr A. Saunders, at Montoa, met with a nasty accident on Wednesday after-, noon. He was driving in the cows, Avbei the horse he was riding suddenly swerved, throwing the rider on i;o some stones. He sustained among other injuries a broken finger and rib; the doctor also t fears internal injuries as well, but is unable to say for certain at present. Mr W. 11. Gunning was successful in scooping the pool with his exhibit of cactus dahlias at the Fox ton Horticultural Show. Mother Mary Aubert Avill open the Bazaar next Aveek, Avhich is to be held in aid of the Home of Compassion. Mr and Mrs W. H. Fiell have also expressed their intention of being present. Many residents have expressed their regret at tho local Rifle Club not being represented at TrenthanV. On more than one occasion our local men have been in the " final fifty." We can, hoAvever, look forward to 1911 and hope that one of them AA'ill come out on top.
